ELEMENT PICKS BEGINNINGS

Element Picks was started with just one goal in mind - to make a pick as unique as you. It wasn’t always easy, though... in fact, if I’m being honest, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But 1 year and thousands of happy customers later, I’ve realized that it was all worth it.

Let me backup a little. Before all of this, Element Picks was just a vision I had. It came to fruition while I was thinking about my guitar, wondering what to add to my music wardrobe. I already had a great guitar, a nice strap and an awesome stand. I thought about picks, and why it seemed like the only pick I could ever find were those cheaply-made plastic picks that everyone seems to lose. “Hmm… that's strange”, I thought. “They make high-end capos, cases and straps - why not picks? Surely every guitarist should own at least one nice pick.” It intrigued me, and I got to researching.

After hours of research and unleashing my inner-caveman, I realized that there was a high demand for these kinds of picks, but hardly anybody selling them. Not only that, but the picks so commonly sold consist mostly of polymer, a type of plastic that has dire effects on our environment. All those lost picks weren’t only adding up to frustration - they were also contributing to a dirtier planet.

It was at that moment that it hit me, and I had one of those “ah-ha” moments that you always hear about on Shark Tank. I could solve two problems at once by making an environmentally sustainable pick that also captures the uniqueness of the soul in every piece. And so, Element Picks was born.
